Statement in Support of the Bipartisan DOTCOM Act

Washington, D.C. – Internet Association President and CEO Michael Beckerman issues the following statement in support of the DOTCOM Act:

“The Internet Association applauds Chairman Walden, Ranking Member Pallone, and Rep. Shimkus on the bipartisan DOTCOM Act. Congress has an important oversight role to play in the ICANN transition, as the seamless operation of the Internet is at stake. The approach taken in this legislation will help ensure the necessary checks and balances are in place before a transition occurs. The Internet industry looks forward to working with the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the NTIA, and ICANN to ensure that stakeholders are protected as the transition moves forward.”
