Applauding the Passage of Florida Ridesharing Legislation

Washington, DC – Today, Dustin Brighton, Internet Association Vice President of State Government Affairs, issued the following statement on the passage of HB 509 by the Florida House of Representatives:

“The Internet Association applauds the passage of HB 509 by the Florida House of Representatives, and thanks Rep. Matt Gaetz for his leadership in establishing a statewide regulatory and insurance framework for transportation network companies (TNCs). We urge the Florida Senate to pass this important legislation.

“Floridians deserve the choice to share in safe, dependable, convenient, and modern transportation options. A statewide regulatory framework will ensure that the economic opportunity, convenience, and safety resulting from new ridesharing technology is widely available to everyone living in and visiting Florida.”
