Statement on the Bicameral Introduction of the USA Freedom Act

Washington, D.C. – Internet Association President and CEO Michael Beckerman issues the following statement on the bicameral introduction of the USA Freedom Act:

“The Internet industry appreciates the bipartisan, bicameral introduction of the USA Freedom Act. The reforms included in this bill end bulk data collection, increase transparency, and implement enhanced accountability for surveillance activities — three important steps to comprehensive reform. We will continue to work with all stakeholders involved to pass this important set of reforms by the June 1 deadline. Beyond this effort, surveillance reform and protecting global Internet users remains a priority for our members.”
