Washington, D.C. – The Internet Association is pleased to announce the addition of its newest team member, Ellen Schrantz, who will serve as a Director of Government Affairs and Counsel in the organization’s Washington D.C. office.

Internet Association membership has grown to 36 companies — the most recognizable names online. Recent member additions include Coinbase, Dropbox, FanDuel, Intuit, Pandora, Pinterest, and Zenefits.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ellen to the Internet Association,” said Gina Woodworth, Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs. “As we continue to engage on policy issues that impact the evolving Internet economy, Ellen’s extensive Congressional experience will be an important asset to our team.”

Ellen currently serves as the Counsel for Congressman Darrell Issa (CA-49), where she played an integral role in the establishment of the Congressional Caucuses on the Internet of Things and the Sharing Economy. Previously, Ellen served as Counsel for The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, where she worked on a broad swath of technology and immigration issues as a professional staff member.

“Ellen is an excellent addition to our growing team,” said Michael Beckerman, President and CEO of the Internet Association. “Her deep roots in technology policy at the federal level will be a great benefit to our member companies as we continue advocating for policies that promote and protect Internet growth and innovation.”
