Link: U.S. House Representatives Upton and Walden Announce Plans to Update the Communications Act

The Internet Association welcomes Chairman Upton and Subcommittee Chairman Walden’s examination of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. We look forward to working with them to ensure a communications marketplace that promotes innovation, competition, and democratic discourse.  As our country moves to continue its innovative spirit, spur economic growth and create jobs in new sectors, we must promote policies that maintain the Internet’s decentralized, bottom up model structure.  Keeping the Internet open and protecting its freedom will accelerate its growth for America’s future.
