Internet Association joined a group of 22 business groups from around the world to endorse a statement concerning the OECD’s Work on Government Access to Data Held by the Private Sector. The statement was sent to the OECD Secretariat and shared with members of the OECD CDEP informal Drafting Group for its project in advance of their May 6 meeting. With this statement, the global business community presented a strong and unified voice to the OECD, which highlights concerns about the economic and commercial impact of disruptions to cross-border data flows stemming from a lack of clarity, transparency, and consistency between national approaches to government access to data.
