Multi-Association Letter to the Indonesian Trade and ICT Ministries Regarding GR80


IA joined a multi-association letter on Indonesia’s Government Regulation no. 80 on e-Commerce (“GR 80”). News reports indicate the e-commerce regulation applies to domestic and foreign e-commerce companies alike and lays out a number of rules related to licensing, data, consumer protection, taxation, among other things. GR80 was circulated and passed within a few days and entered into immediate effect on November 25, 2019. It is unclear all of the ramifications of the regulation as U.S. industry has still not seen an official English translation to analyze.
