IA Statement On San Francisco City Attorney’s Lawsuit To Prevent Peer-To-Peer Car Sharing At SFO

Sacramento, CA — Internet Association Vice President, State Government Affairs Robert Callahan issued the following statement on the San Francisco City Attorney’s lawsuit to prevent peer-to-peer car sharing at SFO:

“It is unfortunate that San Francisco’s City Attorney chose to block innovation and competition in the car sharing market at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). It is the fundamental belief of the entire internet industry to embrace a level playing field, competition, and consumer choice. IA encourages SFO to consider a reasonable permitting structure that acknowledges the differences between traditional rental cars and peer-to-peer car sharing.”
