Washington, DC – Today, Internet Association announced Mike Liptak will join the organization as Director, Federal Government Affairs. Liptak most recently served as Vice President of Government Relations for the The Travel Technology Association and began his Washington career as a special assistant to Senator Mitch McConnell.

“As IA builds its largest government relations team since the association’s creation, Mike will be a valuable team member.  He brings a blend of tech and insider Capitol Hill knowledge that will further elevate IA’s ability to engage and communicate the industry’s value and positions to policymakers,” said K. Dane Snowden, President and CEO of Internet Association.

Liptak joins a team led by Jerry Golden, Senior Vice President, Head of Global Government Affairs. Commenting on the newest addition to the IA team, Golden noted, “Mike’s proven ability to tell tech’s story of innovation, transformation, and empowering consumers will be an asset to IA and the perfect compliment to IA’s talented, driven Government Affairs team.”

Liptak noted, “This is an exciting time to join IA. There is new leadership, new vision, and palpable new energy.  Whether virtually or in person, I’m excited to interact with Members of Congress and staff to promote the good that the internet industry enables daily and to work together with policymakers on issues of mutual importance such as safety, privacy, and access.”

Liptak brings to IA seven years of previous experience working directly with a number of IA’s member companies in the travel and short-term rental industries, in addition to metasearch sites. Before The Travel Technology Association, Liptak held government relations roles at Washington Strategies LLC and the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association.  He is a graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania.
