Statement On The Gig Worker Equity Compensation Act

Washington, DC – Internet Association (IA) Director, Social Impact Policy and Counsel Sean Perryman issued the following statement on the introduction of the Gig Worker Equity Compensation Act by Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC): 

“The sharing economy provides workers autonomy, flexibility, and the ability to choose when, where, and how they earn an income. The internet industry commends Rep. McHenry for introducing the Gig Worker Equity Compensation Act, allowing on-demand workers to maintain the flexibility they want while receiving equity compensation.”
