Statement On The Reintroduction Of The PACT Act

Washington, DC –  Internet Association’s Deputy General Counsel Elizabeth Banker issued the following statement in response to the reintroduction of the PACT Act by Senators Schatz and Thune:

“The PACT Act represents a thoughtful approach to the complex issues raised by content moderation. While IA still has serious concerns with the bill, we  appreciate the positive changes made by Sens. Schatz and Thune to the revised PACT Act. Our industry shares the goals of increasing transparency and accountability in content moderation, and we look forward to working with the bill’s sponsors to discuss aspects of the bill that could interfere with companies’ efforts to take action against harmful content.”
