Washington, DC – Internet Association today announced that Tiffany Haverly has joined IA as Director, Communications. Tiffany’s focus will be on media relations and additional communications strategies. Tiffany Haverly joins from Finsbury Glover Hering. Prior to Finsbury, Tiffany was Communications Director for the Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee in 2020. While at the Committee, she worked extensively on policy areas such as Section 230, 5G/spectrum, broadband accessibility, establishing a national standard for data privacy, and U.S. global leadership in technology — all while developing critical messaging around public health and federal response during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She held additional positions on Capitol Hill, including Communications Director for the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, and she spent over a decade working for Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. Haverly also brings to IA trade association experience, having worked at PhRMA as Director of Public Affairs. She received her master’s degree in Strategic Communication from American University, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee.
K. Dane Snowden, President and CEO of Internet Association, commented, “Tiffany Haverly joining IA is a potent flourish to a savvy and strategic Communications team at IA. Across the board, IA’s new emphasis on frontline advocacy is coming into sharp focus at the federal and state levels as outreach to policymakers and media continues to expand and fortify.”
Haverly is joined by Tiffany Schwartz, who is IA’s new Manager, Communications. Both positions are direct reports to Christina Martin, Senior Vice President, Global Communications and Public Affairs. Prior to joining IA, Tiffany assisted with communications at the Embassy of Jordan and taught English with the International Rescue Committee’s Adult Education program. She received her M.A. in Intercultural and International Communication after studying at both American University, in Washington, D.C., and Sciences Po, in Paris, France, and she received her B.A. in History with a minor in Global Studies from Arizona State University.
Under new leadership since the beginning of 2021, momentum continues to build at IA with an additional hire on the Government Affairs team reporting to Jerry Golden, Senior Vice President, Head of Global Government Affairs. Hannah Specogna joins as Government Affairs Specialist, where she is responsible for tracking and summarizing legislative activity as well as providing research support for the government affairs team. Prior to joining IA, Specogna worked with the Atlantic Council for the Future Europe Initiative, now known as the Europe Center, and on business development at Praescient Analytics. Hannah is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she earned her Master of Arts in Political Science as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy and Global Politics with a minor in Italian.
