Statement On The Music Modernization Act Ahead Of Senate Judiciary Committee Markup

Washington, DC – IA President & CEO Michael Beckerman released the following statement ahead of tomorrow’s Senate Judiciary Committee markup of the Music Modernization Act (MMA):

“It’s past time that policymakers bring mechanical licensing out of the era of player pianos and into the digital age. The entire music ecosystem will benefit from the increased choice and availability of music under the new system created by the MMA. We urge lawmakers to bring this bill to the President’s desk.”
