Statement On The Announcement Of A Deal To Pass USMCA

Washington, DC – Internet Association President & CEO Michael Beckerman issued the following statement on the announcement of a deal between the Trump Administration and House Democrats to pass the United-States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“Digital trade is one of the U.S.’s largest exports, and reaching a deal on USMCA is an important step in building America’s economic leadership across every sector of the economy. The strong digital provisions in the agreement will benefit businesses of all sizes in every state by helping them reach new markets and customers in Mexico and Canada.

“We commend the Trump Administration, Speaker Pelosi, Chairman Neal, the Democratic working group, and all the Members of Congress who worked on reaching this historic deal that will allow Congress to move forward with considering the agreement. We look forward to reviewing the implementing legislation to ensure it will achieve the full goals of the agreement.”
