Statement On The Announcement Of A Preliminary Trade Deal Between The U.S. And Japan

Washington, DC – IA Director, Trade Policy Jordan Haas issued the following statement on the announcement of a preliminary trade deal between the United States and Japan that includes digital trade:

“The internet industry welcomes the news that digital is included in the preliminary trade agreement between the U.S. and Japan. Small businesses in every industry and every state will benefit from strong digital trade provisions. Our two countries enjoy a robust shared understanding of digital trade, and this agreement would advance America’s digital priorities with other countries and in the ongoing negotiations at the WTO. We look forward to continuing to work with USTR as they work to sign this agreement in September.”
