Statement On The White House’s DCOI Strategy

Washington, DC – Internet Association Director, Cloud Policy and Counsel Alla Seiffert issued the below statement following the release of the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI):

“The internet industry appreciates OMB’s leadership in updating the Data Center Optimization Initiative, which provides guidance to federal agencies on closing data centers and moving workloads to the cloud. The vendor community supports the government’s efforts to close antiquated data centers, and welcomes OMB’s continued direction to agencies to bring IT infrastructure into the 21st Century, including through adoption of commercial cloud services. Internet Association members look forward to continued partnership on migrating public sector software to commercial cloud solutions.”
