Director, Federal Government Affairs
Amy Murphy is a Director of Federal Government Affairs at Internet Association where she is responsible for advocating on behalf of the internet industry to Capitol Hill and the federal government. Prior to joining IA in 2017, Amy served as Senior Legislative Assistant to Texas Congressman Joe Barton for five years, focusing on telecommunications, tech, and energy.
While working for Rep. Barton, Amy co-founded the bipartisan Congressional Tech Staff Association (CTSA), which seeks to foster dialogue across the political spectrum on a wide range of tech policy issues. Amy attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate and graduate degrees in International Affairs. She speaks Russian and Spanish and calls Ft. Worth, TX home.
