Jon Berroya

Interim President and CEO

Jon Berroya is Interim President and CEO at Internet Association. Berroya remains General Counsel and is responsible for leading the association’s legal, public policy, and regulatory initiatives.

Berroya has been working on technology-related legal and policy issues for over 20 years, during which he has advised companies on a wide range of issues including data security and privacy, intellectual property enforcement, and export controls. Before joining IA, Berroya was the Entertainment Software Association’s Vice President, Legal Affairs. Berroya also previously worked for BSA | The Software Alliance, served as in-house counsel to Yahoo! Inc., and represented prominent social networking sites, internet portals, and ISPs as a private practitioner. Berroya began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office.

When he isn’t practicing law, Berroya spends his time hanging out with his family, rooting for the New York Yankees, and listening to early 90’s hip hop and rock.
