Data & Computer Scientist

Sera is the Data & Computer Scientist at Internet Association in Washington, DC. She is responsible for processing and managing large datasets, conducting sophisticated analysis, and creating original code for querying the datasets in direct support of IA’s Economics & Research work.

Prior to joining IA full time, she was a research assistant under IA’s Chief Economist, working to collect and analyze data crucial for reports like quarterly industry indicators, 3i Jobs Reports, etc. She co-authored a paper with Dr. Christopher Hooton titled “A Look At The Historical Growth Of The U.S. Internet Sector” for Business Economics, which published in December 2019.

Sera received a Masters in Computer Science from George Washington University with honors and a Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from St. Joseph’s Engineering College in India.

When not staring at data on her computer screen all day, she enjoys experimenting with recipes while watching her favorite shows, trying out a new activity, and spending time with family whenever possible.
